About this project
This project involved the demolition of an existing rear extension and full ground clearance to prepare for a new 35m² single-storey extension. Due to restricted access, excavation was carried out using small machinery with spoil manually removed to the front of the property, and concrete was pumped in to complete the foundations.
The new structure was built using traditional brick and blockwork, with steelwork installed to support a full rear knock-through and mid-span roof support. The extension features a flat roof system, fully insulated and finished with EPDM roofing.
Designed as a large open-plan living space, the project created a modern kitchen, dining, and living area, opening out through 5m bi-fold doors onto a newly paved 40m² patio. External works included replacing the perimeter fence and levelling the garden in preparation for future landscaping.
Final works included kitchen installation, timber herringbone flooring throughout the extension and part of the existing house, and the supply and fitting of all new internal doors.
